The California Education Round Table strongly supports efforts to increase the number of college and university students who provide tutoring services in the schools. The Round Table's intent is to assure that tutoring is beneficial to K-12 academic progress. At the same time, the tutoring activity can be a significant education experience for the college students who participate. When structured as a community service learning experience, the activity itself is complemented by structured reflection, directed to the goals of academic learning, civic learning, moral learning and career learning.
